From the 1920s to the 1990s
A place steeped in history
Its origins date back to 1920, when the Compagnie du Chemin de fer Métropolitain de Paris (CMP) had this building constructed in Montévrain, in the Seine-et-Marne department. Designed as a place of rest for employees, the site already offered what makes it so appealing today: space, tranquillity and lush green surroundings.
In the 1950s, the estate was renamed “La Villa du Métro” and became a holiday resort for RATP staff. For several decades, it was a place for holidays and shared moments, before gradually falling into disuse in the late 1990s with the rise of low-cost flights.
2017, a new life
The Renaissance of La Coudraie
In 2017, two childhood friends fell in love with this derelict property. Originally from the region and in love with the surroundings, they decided to breathe new life into the building with a simple ambition: to create a place where people can come to recharge their batteries, reconnect and enjoy nature, just 25 km from Paris.
The name “La Coudraie” came about quite naturally, referring to the nearby path and the former hazelnut grove that once stood on the site. It is a nod to local history and the spirit of the project: respecting the environment and making the most of what is already there.

Mindful of environmental issues, the owners of La Coudraie have chosen to place sustainable tourism at the heart of the project. Responsible resource management, care for the environment and respect for the local area guide their day-to-day decisions. The aim is simple: to offer a comfortable and relaxing stay, whilst minimising the impact on this exceptional natural setting on the banks of the Marne.
This approach is reflected in practical measures that we share with our guests. In every room, you have individual controls for heating and air conditioning, designed to encourage sensible use. Linen is changed on request, and sheets are changed every three days to reduce water and detergent consumption. Waste sorting, careful use of lighting and responsible water consumption are also encouraged, so that together we can preserve the resources and the balance of the environment.
